Has it ever happened to you? I was four years old and had walked to church with my older sister, Becky, my big brother, Gary, and Colleen who lived across the street. After church Gary and Colleen decided to take a shortcut home. My Becky and I, being less daring, refused to take the shortcut and started off retracing our original route.
Well, Becky and I were the ones who got lost.
We just kept going around in circles seeing the
same street intersections over and over. I wanted
my sister to ask a man who was mowing his lawn
to help us. She, being older, wiser and more often
warned about strangers, said, "No!"
Eventually, we found our way back home again on
our own. Our arrival was greeted with Gary and
Colleen saying, "What took you so long?"
