It was the early 70's when I first learned to drive. Most cars were big and the speed limit on the freeway was higher than it is now. Combine an inexperienced driver, a car the size of a yacht traveling at high speeds and a sudden flat tire...well, it was a bit scary.
But the scariest thing of all was facing the prospect of changing a tire on my own! Thank you, thank you kind driver of the linen truck that pulled right up behind me and changed that tire.
