What's For Dessert? Strawberry Layer Cake

1 box white cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup water
1 can strawberry frosting
2 cups sliced strawberries
non-stick cooking spray

Directions.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour cake mix into a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, oil and water and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
Spray cake pans with non-stick cooking spray. Pour batter evenly into the pans.
Place in oven on the top rack and bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean (about 25 minutes).
Transfer cake layers to a cooling rack and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes.
Spread frosting over the flat side of one layer. Arrange most of the strawberries evenly over the frosted center of the cake.
Place second layer on top of the first with domed side up. Frost first the sides and then the top of the cake. Decorate with remaining strawberry slices.
