Strawberry Layer Cake
1 box white cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup water
1 can strawberry frosting
2 cups sliced strawberries
non-stick cooking spray
Directions.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour cake mix into a large mixing bowl.
Add eggs, oil and water and beat with an
electric mixer until smooth.
- Spray cake pans with non-stick cooking
spray. Pour batter evenly into the pans.
- Place in oven on the top rack and bake until
a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake
comes out clean (about 25 minutes).
- Transfer cake layers to a cooling rack and
allow to cool for at least 15 minutes.
- Spread frosting over the flat side of one
layer. Arrange most of the strawberries
evenly over the frosted center of the cake.
- Place second layer on top of the first with
domed side up. Frost first the sides and
then the top of the cake. Decorate with
remaining strawberry slices.
