Play A Word Game – Opposites Attract

Take turns naming two words that have an opposite relationship. Other players must then make up sentences that use both of the words.

If your words were hot and cold these sentences could be created.

  • The hot food was served on a cold plate.
  • I was cold so I put a hot water bottle in my bed.
  • The cold ice cube disappeared when put into the hot coffee.

If your word pair was true and false, these sentences would fit into the game.

  • Your words sounded true but the expression on your face told me they were false.
  • Yes, it is true that every question on the test was false.
  • Those false eyelashes look too good to be true.

Be flexible with your opposite pairs and have fun!
