I’m sure everyone has a story similar to this one from my childhood.
I was in the second grade and our teacher taught us how to fold and cut paper snowflakes. This was fun! I carefully folded my paper, took my scissors and cut out random shapes the way I was shown.
Proudly, I took the results of my first trial up to the teacher to pin to the bulletin board. Her response was, “Go sit down, and when you have a pretty one, bring it back up and we’ll pin it to the bulletin board”.
Well that was that! I was not artistic! I lived with that belief for many years.
Don’t let someone’s careless words form your identity. Go ahead and try it again anyway. The person you must please is yourself. (I liked that snowflake that I made.)
