Good Conversation – The Stoppers

Do you have the art of good conversation?  Consider some traits of bad conversation and decide if you are occasionally guilty.  How can you avoid these behaviors and improve your conversation skills?

• Uh huh - Pretending to listen while doing something else
• Blah, blah, blah... - Monopolizing the conversation
• Which was, who also - Adding too many details
• That's not right - Correcting the story teller
• How was your day? - Asking questions that can be answered in one word
• Think it will rain? - Boring
• Oh, I gotta tell you! - Interrupting
• Isn't that precious? - Patronizing
• Ahem, I'm here, too - Leaving someone out of the conversation
• I threw up this morning - Inappropriate topics
