Are you looking forward to your next school vacation? Are vacations sad and boring times without the friends and activities of school?
Compose a short poem that expresses your feelings about school. Here's mine:
As a child, I loved school
and was eager to begin
Learning new things, for me,
was as easy as blinking
As a teacher, oh my
What a different point of view
I often asked myself
What could I have been thinking?
(Just joking, of course. I loved being a teacher and watching children grow and learn.)

How did you use Math today?
If you rolled a regular cubic number die, what would be the odds of rolling an even number? The answer is 3 out of 6 or 50/50. If you rolled two dice there would still be a 50/50 chance of getting an even number; 6 out of 12.
If someone knocked on the door right now what would be the chance (choosing from the people in the room with you now) of a female answering the door? A male?
Think about some other examples of odds.
