Language And Geography – Topography Poems

Pick a type of landform and create a rhyming poem that describes it.

Here is my poem about mesas:

Flat on top
Sits Table Rock
Mesa is the Spanish word for table
Pack a lunch
Good to munch
There’s a picnic on top, join if you’re able!

What will you choose?  Mountain, river, canyon?

Everyday Math – Finding Relationships

Look around and create Math relationships with what you see.

Maybe you can use multiplication to express how many utensils are being used. (One knife, fork and spoon used by five people makes 15 utensils.)

Or create a problem about time using the clock.  (I woke up at 6 a.m. and now it is 5:40 p.m.  How long have I been awake?)

Be creative and have fun!
