Patty Melt with Sauerkraut and Onions

Have one of your lunch-counter favorites at home, tangy sauerkraut teamed up with a ground beef patty melt.

How many servings?

From kitchen to table in 30 minutes.

ground beef
jack cheese
bread
margarine
sauerkraut
red onion

Directions
  1. Shape ground beef into patties.
  2. Brown in a skillet over medium heat. Turn to brown other side.
  3. Dice onion and add to sauerkraut and heat over medium-low heat.
  4. Cut cheese into slices.
  5. Spread margarine over one slice of bread
    and place in a griddle, margarine side down over medium heat.
  6. Arrange half of cheese onto bread slice. Top with cooked hamburger patty, then remaining cheese and other bread slice. Spread margarine over top slice of bread.
  7. Cook over medium heat until brown on one side.
  8. Turn and brown other side. Serve with sauerkraut and onions.
