I've always made it a practice to add long columns of numbers twice when using my calculator. It's a good thing, too because I often have to add them up one more time when the first two totals aren't the same
Test your speed and accuracy by having calculator races. Write out a column of 10 or so numbers to add and GO! Including some decimal points will make it more challenging. Race against the clock if you don't have enough calculators for all the contestants.
