Give A Speech – Family Heirloom

Practice giving a relax and entertaining speech.  Choose an item to discuss that could fall into the category of family heirloom (or will become an heirloom over time).  Include these things in your speech.

• Introduction that names the item and what makes it special.
• Facts to support the special-ness of your item.
  • Tell who owned the item
  • How you have used the item
  • Give the item qualities such as lucky, valuable, unpredictable, etc.
• Make a conclusion that ties in your facts with your original statement.

This old trunk belonged to my Grammy .  Grammy was a collector of things.  Everything that is in this trunk, she put there.  We think of this trunk as a sort of time capsule.  Looking at the things in this trunk gives me a glimpse of what her life was like.
