Everybody enjoys rolling, pinching, squeezing and pressing on a piece of clay to create something. It's even more fun when you made the clay yourself! Here's the recipe:
1 cup salt
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Food coloring
Mix salt and water together in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until tiny bubbles appear on the sides and bottom of the pan.
Dissolve cornstarch in cold water and add to saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir well. Add a few drops of food coloring.
Continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
Allow to cool and then knead on a surface dusted lightly with more cornstarch.
Unused clay can be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container. Add a damp paper towel or sponge to keep the clay moist.
If clay dries out, knead in drops of water until clay returns to a malleable consistency.
There are so many fun things I can make with this!
