  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • non-stick cooking spray
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients and set aside.
  4. Beat egg into brown sugar until blended. Add milk and melted butter and stir. Pour into dry ingredients and blend just until moistened. Stir in nuts.
  5. Spray loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray and then pour in batter.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
